Being out of money sucks. Not being able to pay rent or feed yourself is downright horrible and certainly no laughing matter. Yet, Arcane Circus' life management game Crap! I'm Broke: Out of Pocket manages to infuse some gallows humor into this predicament. It has you scrubbing dishes, flipping burgers, and other small tasks to pay the rent, not starve to death, and maybe even treat yourself to something nice now and again. It's hardly the life you imagined, but at least it pays the bills, right"

For a game that is all about performing mundane tasks - every job is a simple minigame - this is quite compelling. You'll probably fail miserably the first couple of times, but each subsequent attempt gets you a little further in life. Random events - "You were mugged!" or "You were sick and had to buy medicine!" - add an extra layer of challenge to an already tough and unforgiving game. The quirky and distinctive cubistic art style and the game's weird, jazzy soundtrack certainly warrant a closer look!
