You're tasked with helping Jimmy through this world, meeting various monsters as you explore the various locales, then learning how to pretend to be them so you can use their abilities later on. Jimmy may not be able to knock down some fruit from a tree, but perhaps his ostrich form can. Likewise, being a slime creature has some benefits in tight spaces, encouraging players to let their imaginations go and use their creativity to get through challenging situations. Likewise, these powers help in a fight, with each monster leveling up like a playable class, letting players grow thier own favorite creature.
Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass has an innocent appearance, but it's not long before some unsettling elements start to take hold, telling a frighteningly grown-up story despite being focused on a kid and his family.
