Sceal: An Irish Folklore Adventure casts you as the ghost of a young girl with no memories of her past, wandering the world. Branna, the Raven of the Dead, offers to finally lead you to the afterlife, but only should you find your name and memories in its magical storybook. this puts players on a journey through a watercolor storybook world, using light and dark powers to paint the book with happiness and despair in order to recall the girl's lost identity.
While searching this world for pieces of her memory and places that will jog it, players can switch between being an angel of light or a banshee, using the powers of each to paint things in cheerful light colors or oppressive dark ones, drawing out different bits of story and background depending on which ones you use. As you roam the storybook world and make your changes to it, the young girl's story will emerge. Your roamings are accented by the music of Irish folk singers, as Sceal: An Irish Folklore Adventure offers a haunting, beautiful soundtrack to go along with the story.
