In case you missed it, Nintendo announced a slew of new items yesterday so I have decided to include them all in one post in this “Nintendo News Dump”!
I had to work late last night so I couldn’t post any of this awesome Nintendo news. Nintendo announced that Mario Kart is headed to mobile platforms sometime within this fiscal year. We think it’s going to be a very good move and can only imagine where they could go with this. With the millions upon millions of iOS and Android users, Mario Kart on mobile phones will no doubt be HUGE!! The games name appears to be Mario Kart Tour. I am hoping we see some actual gameplay on the game soon, so keep it here for more details. Nintendo also officially confirmed the animated Super Mario Bros. movie. Nintendo is partnering with Illumination to make the movie. The movie will apparently be co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri. More on this match made in heaven as it becomes available.
And finally the Nintendo Switch’s online plans will be coming to the console later this year. September looks to be the launch date, so expect to hear something in the near future regarding the online service. Details are VERY scarce but Nintendo has stated that they would like to keep costs down for consumers.
