2016 has been a major year for virtual reality video games, as it saw the release of several commercial headsets. Whether or not VR turns out to be a fad or a real revolution remains yet to be seen, but there’s no doubt that this year has been historic for the medium. One of the most exciting advancements is that VR is now available on a console thanks to PlayStation VR, and no longer requires an expensive PC to run (although it still isn’t exactly cheap to jump in on consoles).
PlayStation VR hasn’t been out for long, as it released in October, but it’s had an eventful few months. Following a really solid launch lineup, the system has seen several major releases since then from Ubisoft and other publishers.
