Deus Ex: Mankind Divided released only yesterday, and even with the glowing critic praise, the game is having a bit of a rough time appeasing many users. One issue of contention lies within its microtransactions, which allow players to purchase credits as well as Praxis kits. No one has much issue with purchasing in-game money with real money, but hackles have been raised over the ability to buy Praxis kits. A Praxis kit awards Praxis points, which are then used to purchase new augmentations or upgrades to augmentations. Several players have accused Eidos Montreal of making the game unbalanced to coerce the player into spending more money on Praxis kits in order to level up properly.
Community manager “Poticha” responded to the subreddit, explaining that the game was not designed with microtransactions in mind.
Hi everyone. We’ve read your concerns, and we just wanted to step in and clarify things here. We have not, and will never, compromise the balance of the game in order to direct people towards microtransactions. The game was balanced 100 per cent independently of the microtransactions available in the store.
