It’s Fortnite update Tuesday! This title has had plenty of moments in the competitive spotlight, but real-life tournaments are no longer the only way to flex your esports muscles. The latest update brings the first version of open, online competition via an in-game Events System.
Fortnite Events will include scheduled tournament sessions. Select a tournament and, once the session starts, focus on placing well and/or getting kills to earn points. Throughout the tournament, you’ll be matched with others who have similar points. As you climb the ranks, the competition gets more fierce. These points don’t carry over however, so each time you start a tournament, you have a clean slate. This system will include prizes for players, but those details have yet to be revealed. If you want to be part of the planning behind Fortnite, participate in Beta Storms (Save the World) to “test new content and experimental ideas.”
As expected we have a new vehicle, the Quadcrasher which can help you mow down anything in your path. As well as new weapons in Save the World like the aptly named Gravedigger rifle and semi-automatic, Rat King.
