Fortnite Update This Week on PS4 Will Fix Crashes, Survive the Storm Update Coming Soon



Released in paid early access at the end of July, Fortnite from Epic Games received an update (1.4.1) on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One yesterday that addressed numerous crashes on all platforms, an issue causing input lag on PS4, and a purchase issue on Xbox One.
“This patch will help us diagnose the cause of future crashes,” Epic Games added in the Major Known Issues section. “We will continue to investigate crashing related issues.”
Up next is Fortnite update 1.4.2, which will come to PS4 and Xbox One this week (it’s already out on PC). Here’s the patch notes:

Corrected a crash caused by particle effects on all platforms
Corrected a crash caused by slotting a survivor into a squad on PS4
Corrected a number of smaller issues causing crashes on PS4 Corrected an issue preventing PS4 players from joining a game session
Repair the Shelter caches fixed to provide the correct rate of nuts and bolts.

Epic Games is aware of console players being unable to toggle accessories on and off, and a fix is already in progress.
At the end of this month/early September, Fortnite will receive the Survive the Storm Update, which adds a new mode, new weapons, and new threats.
