There’s a “prevalent crash issue” that has been affecting Fortnite players across all platforms. Epic is pushing out an update within the next few hours that should address this issue. The update will be going live at 2 AM Eastern/11 PM Pacific. Epic will not be taking the Fortnite servers down for the update, but players will be required to update their client in order to get the fix. Here’s the full blog post about the crash fix.

This update will be deployed for PC + PS4 at 2:00am ET with Xbox following shortly after. There will be no downtime. Players will need to update their clients.
Fortnite recently released update 1.6 alongside the Fortnitemares event, bringing a huge list of changes to the game, including leaderboards and customization for Battle Royale. It also caps the PS4 and PS4 Pro frame rate at 30 fps, an experience that Epic says is better for the players. They offered some technical explanations as to why they opted to go this route.
