Kojima Says Death Stranding Will Be Out Before Tokyo Olympics, Comments on Metal Gear Survive
We admittedly don’t have a lot of information about Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding except for a brief explanation or two about the game’s title and premise alongside its genre. That led a lot of people to speculate that the game isn’t going to be out anytime soon. Addressing a crowd at a Q&A event at the Tokyo Game Show 2016, and later taking to Twitter, Kojima Productions wrote:
Yes, Death Stranding has a set release date. Duh, how else would we be able to set a budget"Â
Before the Tokyo Olympic Games. Before the new Akira.
We’re told that Death Stranding will feature a “new form of co-op play” but the game will be fully playable without it. Kojima also hinted at a female protagonist while mentioning that casting is still in progress.

In other news, Kojima has clarified that he has no involvement in Metal Gear Survive. Distancing himself from Konami’s upcoming project, he remarked that zombies don’t fit into the series. On Twitter (translated by Siliconera), he wrote:
I?m not involved [in Metal Gear Survive] at all, and I don?t know anything about it. Personally speaking, Metal Gear Solid is espionage to me, political fiction.
At the event, he said:
The Metal Gear games are about political fiction and espionage. Where do zombies fit in with that"
