Looks Like Crytek is Receiving $500 Million From the Turkish Government

It appears that Crytek isn’t in any immediate danger as the developer has reportedly received funding from the Turkish government that’s worth $500 million.
There’s some confusion surrounding the news (either because it’s mistranslated or the original wording is confusing) as some websites are reporting that it’s the Crysis studio that’s investing in Turkey, not the other way round. However, that wouldn’t make sense given the company’s financial status. What’s more understandable is the explanation that the company received the aforementioned amount for investing locally rather than abroad.
For those who aren’t aware, Crytek is based in Germany and is owned by three brothers (Cevat, Avni, and Faruk Yerli) who are of Turkish descent. According to one of the country’s local newspaper, Daily Sabah, Prime Minister Binali Y?ld?r?m made the announcement above on December 24 during “Turkey’s 500 Large Service Exporters” ceremony.
Last week, Crytek announced that it’ll be shutting down all studios except Frankfurt and Kiev, with a focus now on ?core strengths of developing innovative games and game-development technology.”
