NieR: Automata Will Be Optimized for PS4 Pro, Says Producer
NieR: Automata producer, Yosuke Saito, has said that the upcoming title will be getting the PlayStation 4 Pro treatment. GameRant reports that developer Platinum Games is aiming for “4K quality graphics” while retaining 60 frames-per-second. We’re not sure whether the title will be upscaled or not but Saito has confirmed that it’ll at least be optimized for Sony’s upgraded hardware.
In related news, Platinum Games is considering bringing NieR: Automata to Xbox One as well. However, the final decision will depend upon a successful launch of the PS4 and PC versions. Following a delay, NieR: Automata will be releasing in Japan on February 23, 2017. A Western release date has yet to be announced but we’re told that it’ll be out sometime in 2017. Platinum Games did say back in August that it wants to release a comprehensive 30 to 40-min demo towards the end of this year but we have yet to hear more on that.
