PS4 Pro Will Support SATA 3.0 Hard Drives
Sony Interactive Entertainment has said that the PlayStation 4 Pro will support Serial ATA Revision 3.0 hard drives. Although we’re still awaiting details on the upcoming console’s technical specifications, this little tidbit of news actually came as clarification of an interview that implied PS4 Pro won’t include SATA 3.0 support.
Japanese website 4gamer.net published an interview with SIEÂ executive vice president, Masayasu Ito, who apparently said that the PS4 Pro will only support support SATA 2.0 hard drives like the PS4. However, the website reports that the company later sent a statement confirming it will support SATA 3.0. Sony’s upgraded system is just a month away from release. We’re told that Mark Cerny will be offering more technical details soon but we haven’t been given a date for a presentation yet. For those who are on the fence about upgrading, Cerny will also explain what separates PS4 Pro from the standard PS4 so make sure to keep an eye out.
We’ll update our readers in due course.
