At the end of every year, Guardians in the Tower celebrate The Dawning, an event that celebrates renewal and the things that are to come in the new year. It’s poetry that Destiny 2’s Dawning comes as players are looking for changes to the game, and Bungie promises them once 2018 rolls around. This year’s Destiny 2 Dawning  brings a new look to the Tower and Farm, snowball fights, and Mayhem mode returning to the Crucible. There are also additional milestones to complete and cosmetics to earn through Eververse.
The Dawning starts today and is running through January 9. That’s three weeks to take part in the festivities and earn the exclusive rewards that will be available during the event. Bungie detailed The Dawning in a blog post, but it’s certain that there are additional surprises to discover when players jump into the game today. ?The Traveler is awake. For Humanity, a new Golden Age has begun. This year’s Dawning is unlike any other?it’s not just the renewal that a new year brings, but the dawn of something greater. Now more than ever, we must gather together in the Tower, at the Farm, and all across the system to give thanks. Our Light has returned?and it illuminates everything around us.”
