Red Dead Redemption 2 Features Customizable HUD, Consequential Small Talk



As Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date nears, more details continuously surface. The latest round of information came in conjunction with the game’s second gameplay trailer. The Dead Eye System was shown off in more detail, as were some of Red Dead Redemption 2’s mini-games. The PlayStation Blog, however, has identified smaller features not spotlighted in the trailer.
One such detail is the HUD being fully customizable. Akin to other parts of Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games has intricately designed HUD options. Players can more than just toggle it on and off. According to the PlayStation Blog, you can:
Press down on the d-pad to toggle between several different HUD options: off, a minimized version, and the default setting. On the radar, you can easily identify story beats by the yellow icons, while emergent ?ambient? events are marked in white. Of additional interest is the game’s dynamic soundtrack. Composer Woody Jackson, who worked on Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto V, scored Red Dead Redemption 2. Jackson’s music and that of other guest artists features throughout the experience, which includes “approximately 190 individual music pieces.” While exploring the world, the soundtrack dynamically changes according to the player’s actions.
