Star Wars Battlefront II Loot Crate Prices Revealed
Star Wars Battlefront II‘s trial recently went live on EA Access and Origin ahead of launch, thanks to which we now know how much the game’s controversial loot crates will cost.
As detailed by Eurogamer, Battlefront II‘s Crystal currency comes in the following bundles:
500 Crystals for £3.99/$4.99
1000 for £7.99/$9.99
2100 for £15.99/$19.99
4400 for £31.99/$39.00
12000 for £79.99/$99.99
Now, the loot crates come in three types: Trooper, Starfighter and Hero. They contain two crate-themed Star Cards, one item, and crafting parts or in-game currency. The most expensive loot crate, Trooper, costs 200 Crystals or 4000 credits, Starfighter costs 120 Crystals or 2400 credits, and Hero costs 110 Crystals or 2200 credits. Last Wednesday, folks behind YouTube channel XfactorGaming purchased the most expensive Crystals bundle to see what loot they get, and received a level 14 interceptor in the Starfighter Assault mode, with which they gained a significant advantage in the game. In the video below, they reveal that they were “absolutely mopping people up” with the item, concluding that Star Wars Battlefront II is “still pay-to-win.”
When you’re rolling around with a level 14 interceptor and it takes people 150 percent more time to lock on because you’ve already got a blue three-point card, that’s an absolute game-changer.
Star Wars Battlefront II will release on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
