Given how much success (read: moolah) DICE’s first Battlefront game made for publisher EA, it’s a no-brainer that a sequel would be in the works. While Star Wars Battlefront did manage to let a lot of gamers relive their Star Wars fantasies, it wasn’t without its flaws.
One of the flaws that were repeatedly pointed out was the shooter’s lack of a dedicated single-player campaign — a staple for almost every AAA shooter game these days. Fortunately, it has been confirmed early on that Star Wars Battlefront II will remedy that and will have a single-player campaign.
During the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, that PlayStation LifeStyle attended, EA held a press-only dev panel that was attended by DICE, and the studio revealed quite a few details regarding the campaign. First off, DICE has confirmed that the story in Star Wars Battlefront II is canon. Yep, you better believe it. Disney trusts the studio that much, it seems. For the other bits, it will touch on light spoilers, so proceed at your own discretion, alright"
